The lounge is a light, sun-drenched room with patio doors opening directly onto the terraced garden letting in the summer breezes.

There are two large comfortable sofas (one is a double sofa bed), a flat screen TV with Sky (inc sports), DVD player with a good movie selection and a BOSE wireless speaker - however you like to relax, it's covered!

The real oak flooring & underfloor heating together with the feature Victorian fireplace provide cosy warmth on cooler evenings.

You will also find some local maps and walking guides in the lounge.

The modern bathroom has a simple stylish white suite with a shower over the bath, shaver point and heated travertine flooring.

A further WC downstairs completes the main house accommodation. 

The garage has been converted into a fantastic surfers utility room.  There is a large hot walk-in shower: go straight-in after surfing and take off your wetsuit in the warm!  There is also a big laundry sink for washing wetsuits, a hanging rack to dry them and a tumble drier.  In addition, there is a large surfboard rack (with enough height for 10ft longboards...we provide a decent Bic mini-mal for guests along with bodyboards and a skim board). We make sure there is a good selection of beach toys, buckets, spades etc as well as a top quality large wind-break made of old sails, a beach tent and a cool box all available for your use.  There is also an additional drinks fridge here.

The surfroom is home to Lookout’s Red Wagon! You can use it to transport all you beach goodies and / or the kids to the beach and the Red Wagon’s big wheels mean you can even pull it across soft sand.

There is also plenty of storage space for golf clubs, buggies and all your beach equipment!  Our guests love this versatile room which is great for surfers, families, golfers and walkers alike.

The master bedroom is a large king-sized room with solid oak chest of drawers and bedside tables, bedside lamps, and hanging space. Enjoy Sky TV in this bedroom and wake up to beautiful views of the hills and countryside that surrounds Croyde.

The second bedroom is a twin room with matching dark wood beds, chest of drawers and bedside table, decorated tastefully in chocolate browns and white linen. The third bedroom has adult sized bunk beds - and like the twin bedroom it has lovely views across the fields and dunes towards the sea.

All bedrooms have high quality mattresses and high thread-count luxury cotton bed linen - giving you a great night's sleep in every room.

The large dine-in kitchen seats 6 and has underfloor heated slate tiles so you can wander around in bare feet and feel luxuriously warm.  The large kitchen has an integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine (+ tumble dryer in surf room) and is fully equipped for preparing dinner parties, pre- barbeque snacks or just the basics - you can't beat our coffee grinder and fresh coffee beans for an early morning wake-up! We love to cook and so we make sure it has everything the keen foodie needs.

We have made sure that there is also a good range of children's crockery and cutlery available.

The kitchen is lovely on sunny mornings with the sun streaming in through the windows...perfect for large family breakfasts before hitting the beach, or brunch with friends after a night at The Thatch.

The terraced west-facing garden is a sun-trap year round and has some lovely established plants including bamboo, camellia and vines. You will hear the sounds of birds singing, and on big days the waves breaking on Croyde beach. 

With a small grass lawn on the lower level for playing games or lounging, and shade under the large umbrella on the top terrace for enjoying cool drinks, the garden makes a lovely alternative to the beach. Later in the evening, enjoy sunset dining at the alfresco table and chairs, and the outdoor fireplace is there to keep you warm when the sun dips out of sight.
